We are committed to respecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This notice explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Last updated: 6 June 2026.
Who we are
UKtourism.co.uk is owned and operated by Lifestyle Media Group Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the personal data described here. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 3871517) and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration Z4899775). You can reach us about any privacy matter via our contact page.
If you create an account, your login works across other Lifestyle Media Group websites (including www.catalink.com), and your account data is shared with those sites as part of providing that single sign-in.

How long we keep it
- Enquiry / sign-up details: kept while we deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted unless you have an ongoing relationship with us.
- Account data: kept while your account is active; deleted on request or after a prolonged period of inactivity.
- Cookies: see the cookie table below for each cookie’s lifetime.
- Google Analytics data: retained according to our Google Analytics retention setting (Google’s default is up to 14 months for user-level data).
Cookies & similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set if you choose “Accept all” on our banner; choosing “Reject non-essential” means they are not used. We use Google’s Consent Mode so Google’s tags stay disabled until you consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the uk_cookie_consent entry in your browser’s site data, which makes the banner reappear.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
uk_cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie choice | Essential | Until cleared |
visitor, setcountry | Visitor identifier and region preference across LMG sites | Functional | 30 days |
referer, affiliate | Records how you reached an LMG site (referral/affiliate attribution) | Functional | 30 days |
_ga, _gid | Google Analytics — measure site usage | Analytics (consent) | up to 2 years |
| Google AdSense cookies | Show and measure advertising | Advertising (consent) | varies (set by Google) |
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, each acting under contract:
- Google (Analytics, AdSense and the gtag/Consent Mode tags, plus Google Fonts) — analytics, advertising and fonts. See Google Privacy & Terms.
- Rackspace (RackCDN) — hosting of destination images.
- Cloudflare and jsDelivr — content delivery, security and serving site assets.
- Other Lifestyle Media Group websites, where you use a shared LMG account.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK/EEA. Where that is the case, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to: access a copy of your data; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to its processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). To exercise any of these, contact us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails where you have asked us to (for example by signing up). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by contacting us.
Security
We follow strict technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including HTTPS encryption across the whole site.
